Practical Nurse Program
For consideration of the Practical Nursing program, the following items are required:
- 18 years of age or older
- High School or GED. If the high school is from another country then a high school equivalency evaluation must be done from an agency (go to the web site www.naces.org to get the list of the approved agencies).
- High School Transcript (and transcript if you have any college credits)
- Pennsylvania resident (check with the school Director if you are not a Pennsylvania resident)
- Pre-entrance test satisfactory scores. Charge is $50 for the application (preferably paid on the website) and $40 for each try of the test, to be paid by cash or money order (application and testing fees are non-refundable)
- Physical Checkup including physical, and mental examination (all forms are provided with this document).
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (forms are available at PITC)
- Current CPR for the Healthcare Providers card.
- Personal Interview with three references.
- Criminal History Check (prohibitive offences listed in act 169 of 1996 should be excluded).
- Students are required to rotate in all clinical agencies, acute care hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
- All the above requirements must be fulfilled before starting the PN program.
I understand that all the above requirements must be fulfilled before I can begin the class. However, fulfilling these requirements does not guarantee admission to the PN program.
